Franklin Gothic

A fanzine to explain Franklin Gothic to freshmen year students

A fun-zine

Franklin Gothic is a fanzine designed for first-year students that were learning about typography and its characteristics. In order to construct the fanzine, I did an extensive research about its history, context, most common uses, and characteristics.

One of the common uses for Franklin Gothic was in newspapers and printed press so I folded the fanzine in a newspaper way. Through the investigation process, I found lots of theories and rumors that included Benjamin Franklin and the typography. I decided to create an illustration that explained those rumors. The illustration was used as a poster in the fanzine and in a t-shirt and tote bag.
